It's been a long time since I've posted to this blog. Lots have happened: my dad died, his estate had to be settled, his house had to be sold, we decided to move to Ohio, our house had to be sold, on and on ...
So ... Millenium 3 was published in March, 2015, and I'm just getting around to telling you about it.
The idea for the book began with the question, "What will women still be struggling with in a thousand years?" I assume that gender equality will be so much a part of human consciousness that the idea of gender inequality will seem as ridiculous as slavery or white supremacy. I didn't assume a utopian world, nor a dystopian. But I did assume a world that had left behind the petty tribalism that dominates our religions, our nationalism, our governments, our political parties, and almost any other institution in the 21st century.
I chose three women to tell their stories: a widow, a mother whose children were all grown and an artist who was unhappy with the artistic standards that she felt too confining. The three women are lifelong friends who support each other throughout the story.
It's a story that will seem familiar to mature women. All of us, male and female, have similar struggles at some time in our lives.
